ABOUT THE ART

WHAT KIND OF ART DO YOU SELL?
We currently stock original landscape and still life paintings by Karoo artists, and we add new work regularly.

ARE ALL THE ARTWORKS ORIGINALS?
Yes. Every artwork at Kraairivier Huis Gallery is an original piece made by the artist. We do not sell reproductions.

WHO ARE YOUR ARTISTS?
Our artists live and work in Aberdeen, in the Great Karoo. You can read about each of them on our Artists page.

WHY THE KAROO?
Curt and Tracy both grew up in Namibia, and the Karoo’s open, semi-desert landscape reminds them of home. It is a place of big skies, strong light and quiet colour, and it is the subject of much of the work we show.

BUYING

CAN I SEE THE ARTWORK IN PERSON?
Yes. Visit us at 6 Voortrekker Street, Aberdeen, Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, or by appointment.

CAN YOU RESERVE A PIECE FOR ME WHILE I DECIDE?
Yes. Let us know which artwork you’re considering and we will hold it for you for 7 days.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept card payments and EFT, and payment plans are available. 

CAN I COMMISSION A CUSTOM ARTWORK?
Yes. Our artists welcome commissions. Contact us with your idea and we will put you in touch with the right artist.

SHIPPING

DO YOU SHIP WITHIN SOUTH AFRICA?
Yes, and shipping is free anywhere in South Africa.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes. We ship original Karoo art globally. International shipping rates, duties, and door-to-door tracking are calculated automatically at checkout via our courier partner, TUNL. Every piece is custom packaged and fully insured.

HOW IS MY ARTWORK PACKAGED?
We pack and ship every artwork ourselves, with care.
